Choosing the right numbers makes the difference between getting nothing or winning millions. Tips and advice on how to choose your EuroMillions numbers, including systems & strategies, statistical number picking and randomly generated numbers.

Many people pick significant dates for their EuroMillions numbers, a method that instantly limits you to only the first 31 main balls. If a number from 32 onwards is drawn, you will be unable to win the jackpot. There is also the added problem that if, by some chance, all the main numbers do come in below 31, you might have to share the prize with a larger than usual number of players due to the popularity of this system, diminishing any winnings you do receive.

An alternative is to use personal numbers that are not limited to a certain range of values. You can still achieve some level of personal meaning with these numbers, but you won’t put yourself out of personal meaning with these numbers, and you won’t put yourself out of the running for the jackpot if a number in the 40s or high 30s is drawn.

It is reported that many people choose runs of numbers such as 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, which do have as much chance as any other of being drawn, but would also result in you having to share your prize with an unusually large group of other winners if they did come up in the EuroMillions draw. Similarly, choosing neat rows of numbers or patterns is a popular method of selecting numbers and can achieve the same unfortunate outcome.

A way to ensure you don’t restrict your selection is to choose your numbers completely at random. You can do this by marking the Quick Pick option when you buy your ticket, or using the EuroMillions Quick Pick Generator to dispense as many random lines as you would like to play.

Even when you think you are choosing random numbers manually, you can still fall into patterns subconsciously and both these methods help eradicate that issue. You are also less likely to choose the same numbers as someone else with a random selection so there is less chance you will have to share your prize if you win.

Some people like to make their selections on the numbers that have appeared most often in the winning line, whilst others prefer to choose those that haven’t been drawn for the longest time, suggesting they may be due an appearance in the EuroMillions results. These are known as Most or Least Frequent numbers and you can find this information and more at the EuroMillions Number Statistics page, also here we have formulated a system of EuroMillions predictions which are calculated based on historical information.
